For Christmas, Jack bought me three books of erotic stories, plus some other fun reads.
The first book is Lust: Erotic Fantasies for Women. It’s edited by Violet Blue, a renowned sex podcaster, sex educator and columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle. Her podcast, Open Source Sex, is one we listen to regularly, and can be found at www.tinynibbles.com.
Who can live without lust? All day and night our minds run through delicious possibilities – a silky hand beckoning us into the VIP lounge; a stranger in the backseat; the hunky FedEx driver bringing his package to the door – not to mention our own lascivious memories. Lust is a collection of erotica by and for women, a fierce and joyous celebration of female desire – and the triple-X trouble it gets us into. With this anthology, the witty and provocative Violet Blue leads readers down a primrose path to a forest of wicked, lustful surprises.
The second is Tasting Him: Oral Sex Stories, edited by Rachel Kramer Bussel. She’s an author and editor, mentioned previously in this blog for having edited and contributed to Caught Looking, which I reviewed in our September 23rd entry. Read more about Rachel Kramer Bussel here.
There’s nothing more appetizingly erotic than a good blow job, and these 23 sexy stories celebrate every aspect of this irresistible activity. Here are masters of oral sex and nervous newbies getting off by going down – or by being on the equally blissful receiving end. Whether it’s a secret newsroom tryst or a kitchen quickie just a few feet from unsuspecting dinner guests, these sizzling stories show that giving head can make for a delicious repast.
The third book is Hide and Seek. A sort of follow-up to Caught Looking, it’s also edited by Alison Tyler and Rachel Kramer Bussel. I haven’t read any of these three books yet, as I am finishing up Big Big Love, which Mia loaned us last month. But I am definitely starting with Hide and Seek.
In this sizzling collection from the editors of Caught Looking, an office worker flashes a window washer who can’t believe his good fortune, while an adventurous couple offers up a performance for a cab driver as they hurtle through midtown at 4 a.m. Whether putting on a deliberate show for an eager audience or peeking into the hidden sex lives of their neighbors, these voyeurs and exhibitionists go all out in their quest for the perfect peep show. Get a front-row seat for the steamiest live action as these men and women strip, tease, and make you beg for more.
The other four books aren’t fiction collections like the previous three, but they’ve been fun to thumb through and I’m glad to have them on our sex bookshelf. The first is entitled Swingers: True confessions from today’s swinging scene, and it’s by Ashley Lister.
Jack picked this one up when a local bookstore closed down, and I should know because I was with him. I’d forgotten about the book until I unwrapped it. From the back cover:
Swinging, swapping, dogging, threesomes, soft-swaps, group sex and full-blown orgies. Everybody has heard about them. Everyone knows someone who knows someone who was rumored to…But who is really doing it? How? Where? Why? What’s it like? And what really happens?
Frank and Eve regularly frequent the dogging circuits where she accepts up to a dozen different men in a single night. Roger and Sonia spend Saturday evenings having sex in their lounge while their friends sit by and watch. Grace and Harry own a large estate and host bacchanal swinging parties for up to a hundred couples at a time. Ken makes himself available as the other man for those partners who want to experience a MFM threesome. Arthur sits in the room below his wife Betty and listens as she takes lover after lover after lover.
No, we’re not swingers. But it’s a topic that Jack and I find very intriguing on many levels – which you already know if you’ve been reading.
Next up is Satisfaction Guaranteed: 350 Best Sex Tips Ever, by Lisa Sussman.
Rather than typing up what’s on the back cover, I thought I would share a tip that we found useful.
After you’ve come and your vagina has tightened but your contractions are still going, ask him to keep on stroking inside your vagina until they stop. He should then quickly move to your clitoris and massage it. On the point of no return, ask him to put his fingers inside you again. Get ready to dissolve with pleasure!
A fun book, although we noticed that they misspelled “prostate” as “prostrate” on more than one occasion.
Next is Forbidden Knowledge: Sex by Claire Bailey.
The cover promises “101 sensual acts not everyone should know how to do.” It provides information on basic topics such as webcamming, phone sex, stripping, and videotaping your sexual adventures, as well as more advanced matters such as fisting, anal beads, auto-fellatio, and doing sixty-nine while standing. Some of the “lessons” covered in the book are quite funny as well: “How to tell someone they’re crap in bed.” “How to make men think you like small penises.” “How to get into someone’s pants by pretending to be frigid.” Forbidden Knowledge: Sex is part of a series of books, and Jack’s got the other two (non-sexy) installments in his bookshelf. But this is the first one I’ve ever wanted to read, for obvious reasons.
Finally we have 101 Places to Have Sex Before You Die, by Marsha Normandy and Joseph St. James.
We’ve all seen the 1,000 Places to See Before You Die books while browsing the local bookstore. This book works on the same principle. And while the obvious ones (drive-in movie theater, elevator, hot tub, in-laws’ house over the holidays) are included, there are many possible locations that either might not have occurred to you, or else might be really difficult to pull off (confession booth, national monuments, safari, trampoline). Jack and I were pretty surprised by just how many places we were able to cross off the list.
There you have it! The rest of my Christmas presents were all boring and unsexy. (Just kidding, honey!)
-Jill
That would be a fun blog post – the places you can cross off the list! And a fun audience participation post too. Just an idea…
Oops, that was me, Mia Wallace.
Actually, I suggested that exact idea to Jill when we first perused the book. So you’ll probably be reading such an entry before long. And of course we’d invite audience participation. You know, it’s not surprising that we’re on the same page!
-Jack
Those sounds like some interesting books. I would ask to read some if I didn’t have a backlog of things to read already!
Vincent
Those books look hot! And I would also like to read the entry that Mia suggested.
