Today we ripped off a blogger named Firecat from the blog Party in My Head. He doesn’t state where he got it. But, it was probably stolen there as well. So, of course, that will be as far as we go. Tracing back our theft’s thieves might take some time. Take the time to comment on other player’s posts. It’s a great way to make new friends! Link back to us at Sunday Stealing!
Cheers to all of us thieves!
Jack’s Answers:
1. Why did you sign up for writing your blog? A couple with whom we’re friends told us about a sex blog they had before we knew them. As Jill and I have always been very open when it comes to sex and talking about our sex lives, the idea of having a public forum in which to share our fantasies and brag about our experiences held a lot of appeal.
2. Why did you choose your blog’s name? What does it mean? I believe the couple mentioned in #1 suggested the name. “The 916” refers to the area code where we lived at the time, though it has not been our home for more than a year. Though we considered changing the name of our blog, we instead stated in an August blog post that we like the title, and left it as-is with the understanding that we do not intend to maliciously mislead our readership. And we are nothing if not frisky.
3. Do you ever had another blog? Yes. I had a vanilla blog that I maintained using a different Blogger account featuring my real name. When we stopped blogging in summer 2010, this blog was a casualty; when we resumed blogging in August, I saw no reason to maintain the second blog when I got more than enough satisfaction out of this one.
4. What do you do online when you’re not on your blog? Look at porn. Read other blogs. Send emails or occasionally chat with hot people.
5. How about when you’re not on the computer? The same things, but using my phone. When I am not online, however, I think about sex. I read. I cook and eat delicious food. I raise a soon-to-be-toddler. I pack up our house in preparation for another move. Sometimes I don a flashy suit and a cape and fight crime.
6. What do you wish people who read your blog knew about you? Nothing. If I wanted people to know something about me, it would be in the blog. Or on Twitter, I suppose. So if you want to get the whole picture, follow me on Twitter. I’m @jackandjillcpl. For that matter, follow Jill as well. She’s @jillandjackcpl.
7. What is your favorite community in the blogosphere? Definitely the legions of mommy bloggers who have taken to the internet to post their very interesting thoughts on Nick Jr. versus Disney Junior, the importance of acid-free and lignin-free materials for scrapbooking, and the need for parents to occasionally treat themselves to a little “Mommy and Daddy” time. As a stay-at-home Dad, I appreciate the validation that I get from reading such things. These lovely ladies truly inspire me to be the best parent that I can be. Just kidding. I’ve never read a mommy blog and I don’t plan to start anytime soon. All bullshit aside, my favorite community is the sex blogger community. It’s the only one I really follow. I can’t tell Alpha Mom from Parent Hacks*, but between her French manicure and her auburn tresses – not to mention those perfect, ever-suckable breasts – I can recognize
Cougar in Training without seeing her face.
8. What is your philosophy on your blog layout? It’s simple and to-the-point: The main panel features blog entries while the right-hand panel showcases our Formspring, Shelfari and OHNT widgets, recent tweets, a directory of previous blog posts, and our blog roll. We like this layout because I figure I’d probably fuck things up if I tried to change it. It’s kind of boring, actually, and I don’t like it. Too bad I don’t know HTML. The pink is nice though. I think that when we were designing the blog my thought process on the color was, “Pussy is pink. Pink it is.”
9. Tell me about your picture you use to represent you on your blog. The picture depicts Jill and I having sex on the bathroom floor of the condo where we used to live. I’m holding my old-school flip phone (which was stylish and modern at the time) to capture the image in a full-length mirror. It bears noting that the image is, at the time of this writing, Jill’s Twitter avatar. (Mine is an altered version of the same picture.)
10. Pick 3 random blogs from your blogroll and tell us about them.
a.
The Pleasure Principle is Hedone’s (@pleasure_spot) blog. An eclectic blend of all things sexy and funny, a visit to Hedone’s online abode never disappoints. She posts YouTube clips, funny images and comic strips, stories of her sexy adventures with KinkyGent, and all manner of pictures relating to spanking and face-sitting. Plus she’s a recent recipient of the
Versatile Blogger Award!
b.
Not Your Average Chick is the place to find Ashly Star (@ashlystar). She posts random photography, genuine and candid looks into her life and the lives of her family and friends; and the kinds of recipes that make me wish I could bake. Her “
50 Yummy Smoothie Recipes…” post is one of the most awesome things I’ve ever read on a blog and it has absolutely nothing to do with sex! Additionally, and probably most importantly, Ashly has organized a blogger
Toys For Tots fundraiser the last few years.
c.
My Undercover Metamorphosis is the home of Rachel Rey (@sxybklvr). Rachel explores her kinky side, posts erotic poetry, shares her thoughts on dating and single parenthood, and occasionally treats us to photos. Her weekly
Saturday Sweet Sixteen feature is a reminder that we should take time to acknowledge and be thankful for the positive things in our lives.
11. What features do you think your blog should have that it doesn’t currently? It’d be nice if it wrote itself.
12. What do you consider the 10 most “telling” interests that we would infer from what you blog persona? Group sex. Masturbation. Writing. Voyeurism. Exhibitionism. Porn. Fisting. Outdoor sex. G-spot play. Dirty talk.
13. Do you have any unique interests that you have never shared before? What are they? I’d say horror in film and entertainment, but
I’ve already shared that. Food, I guess. I’ve a reputation for being quite the foodie, if not a gourmet. I’ve mentioned on occasion my love of food, though I haven’t really shared details. Not much to share, I suppose; I’m just a guy who likes to eat. I’ll admit that this interest is not particularly unique, but if I was the guy with the largest antique flashlight collection in California, I sure as hell wouldn’t tell you, because that would be way too identifiable.
14. The best thing about blogging is all of the friends that you make, Beside from those folks, do you think your blog has fans? Yes, our blog seems to have fans. November 10 was Love Our Lurkers 6, a day for bloggers to recognize and voice their appreciation for those who read without commenting. Appropriately,
our post that day currently has 115 page views and only five comments. Therefore there are people reading our stuff who aren’t our friends or aren’t even known to us. And I’m just narcissistic enough to call these people fans.
15. What’s your current obsession? What about it captures your imagination? Fisting. I’ve always been interested in it, and it’s something that Jill and I have done pretty often. However, it wasn’t until
International Fisting Day and all the fanfare surrounding it that I would say I became obsessed. We fist on a weekly basis, most recently for a couple hours on Saturday afternoon while the baby slept. At eleven, Jill lost count of her orgasms, though somehow she didn’t squirt. Later that night, at dinner with her family, I mentioned that my little finger was still sore; it sometimes gets bent into an unnatural position while fisting for prolonged periods. I nearly did a spit take when Jill said, at full volume, “You shouldn’t put it in such tight places.”
16. What are you glad you did but haven’t really had a chance to post about? The only thing that comes to mind are the threesomes we’ve had. I’d really like Jill to write about these, as I think her account of these events would be way hotter than my own. Unfortunately, getting Jill to sit down and write a blog post is like getting…someone to…do something difficult. (It’s late and I have no good similes.) The fact that she’s written as many entries as she has lately, and co-written our
birthday story for Yummy, as well as composing the text that accompanies our HNT entries and also had time to answer the weekly TMI Tuesday and Sunday Stealing questions, is pretty remarkable considering how much she has on her plate. It’s not easy living with two children.
17. How many people that first became a blog friend, have you met face to face? None. The only bloggers that we know personally are people who we knew before they had the blog, or otherwise knew despite their blog. I would love to meet some of our blog friends face to face. Which is not to say that face to face is the only position in which I’d like to interact with them.
18. What don’t you talk about here, either because it’s too personal or because you don’t have the energy? I don’t talk about most aspects of my vanilla side. It’s not that it’s too personal to talk about; more accurately I am afraid of giving away too many details about my public alter-ego. In the off-chance that some uptight friend or family member, or worse yet a co-worker of Jill’s, stumbles on our blog we don’t want to connect the dots for them. This is the reason that I didn’t go into any detail about my other blog in #3.
19. What’s a question that you’d love to answer? I considered several different approaches to answering this question. I could go the smart-ass route (“How many meters in a furlong?”), which to be perfectly honest is the one I’m best at. I could go the completely inane route (“What did you have for dinner last night?”). (Apologies to anyone who wanted to know what I had for dinner last night. I in no way consider you or your question inane.) I guess there aren’t really any specific questions I’d love to answer; if I had some information that was burning to be revealed I would have revealed it by now. Instead I’ll say that I’ll gladly answer any question I’m asked, provided it doesn’t compromise our privacy.
20. Have you ever lost a blogging friendship and regretted it? Yes. Justin and Betty of
Seducing the Gods were a couple we considered friends. We enjoyed reading each other’s blogs, and would occasionally chat on Yahoo! Messenger. We enjoyed getting to know them, and the things they blogged about were remarkably deep, thoughtful and erotic, and to top it off they were a very attractive couple. New parents, we enjoyed talking to them about child-rearing as we were expecting our baby around the same time as we were getting to know them. They might have been our first regular readers who weren’t friends. They were, I believe, the first bloggers to
promote our blog in their own. In 2010, their blogging petered out, and they announced the end of the blog shortly before our own wrapped up that summer. They’re still in our Yahoo! Messenger friends list, though we haven’t seen them online in a very long time.
21. Have you ever lost a blogging friendship and thought, “Was that overdue!”
No. I honestly don’t know what it means to have a blogging friendship that I’d like to be rid of. Thusfar everyone we’ve been in touch with has been wonderful, and I imagine that making a blog friend who turns out to be a negative person or otherwise someone we want to break off contact with is like having a Facebook friend who only posts stupid comments on your status updates. Eventually you just stop having any contact with this person in the hopes that he or she will take the hint
Jill’s Answers:
1. Why did you sign up for writing your blog?
Jack brought up the idea of having a sex blog. At first I was afraid of the idea of putting this side of myself out there, for fear that there could be personal or professional repercussions. But the more we talked about it, the more my exhibitionist side took over, and I got really excited by the thought of exposing myself in this way.
2. Why did you choose your blog’s name? What does it mean? I didn’t choose it. Jack said, “This is the name of our blog.”
3. Do you ever had another blog? No. This is my only foray into blogging. I didn’t even contribute to Jack’s vanilla blog.
4. What do you do online when you’re not on your blog? I surf the web, chat, tweet and play games. I also pay bills.
5. How about when you’re not on the computer? I take care of my baby, correct papers, work out, read and watch television. Sometimes, if I’m lucky, I sleep.
6. What do you wish people who read your blog knew about you? I don’t know. I feel like we share a lot on our blog. The things we don’t share are the things we need to keep private. So if it’s not on the blog, I probably don’t want people to know about it.
7. What is your favorite community in the blogosphere? Definitely the sex blogging community. I really don’t go online looking for blogs to read in my spare time. I don’t have enough time to read random blogs about whatever. I’d rather read the blogs of people who follow and comment on ours, as well as the people we follow on Twitter. These are pretty much all sex blogs, or at the very least, sexy blogs, which is convenient because I’m always looking for erotic stories and stuff to enjoy while getting off.
8. What is your philosophy on your blog layout? I like the pink. I think it’s pretty. I thought Jack added that because he wanted to get in touch with his feminine side. I was surprised to read the whole “pussy” thing, but not really that surprised. He likes pussy.
9. Tell me about your picture you use to represent you on your blog. It was taken on my birthday!
10. Pick 3 random blogs from your blogroll and tell us about them.
a.
Tame in Comparison is Tame’s blog. Her writing there runs the gamut from personal anecdotes to very explicit erotica, including her two
audit stories. The second one is bookmarked on my phone, and I read it whenever I want to read about a hot threesome. Also, Tame’s regular particiation in Flash Fiction Friday and TMI Tuesday gives her blog a lot of variety.
b.
Goodwill… is where you’ll find Good Will…or is it Bad Will? I hope it’s Bad Will. He’s naughty.
c.
…The Other HNT is a place where sexy bloggers can submit pictures of themselves anonymously. I am proud to say that OHNT hosted fifty-two consecutive pictures of me in 2010. It documented my pregnancy, a move, my birthday and Christmas, as well as lots of sex throughout the year.
11. What features do you think your blog should have that it doesn’t currently? I think our blog has everything necessary to get an idea of who we are sexually. Plus the OHNT widget takes you right to OHNT, where as I said above, many hot pictures of me have been posted.
12. What do you consider the 10 most “telling” interests that we would infer from what you blog persona? Fisting, masturbation, voyeurism, exhibitionism, sex toys, porn/erotica, oral sex, orgasms, spanking, light bondage.
13. Do you have any unique interests that you have never shared before? What are they? Probably baking. And crafting! I’m very creative, but unfortunately real life takes up a lot of my time and I’m not always able to indulge these interests.
14. The best thing about blogging is all of the friends that you make, Beside from those folks, do you think your blog has fans? Probably. We (usually Jack) comment on most of the blogs we visit, but we realize that most people just read and leave. That’s fine. I actually like the idea that our fanbase is so huge that Blogger would collapse under the weight of so many adoring comments. We’re so sexy that I’m sure legions of people are visiting, reading, maybe masturbating, and leaving. I can live with this.
15. What’s your current obsession? What about it captures your imagination? My current obsession is Twitter. I want to check my timeline constantly but unfortunately it isn’t always possible to check or tweet during work so I find myself catching up during breaks, lunch, etc. Of course, for the longest time Jack and I swore we’d never join Twitter, and now it’s a major part of our lives.
16. What are you glad you did but haven’t really had a chance to post about? The threesomes we had with a friend of ours. They were a lot of fun, and I know it fulfilled a major need in both of us to explore and experiment sexually. I’m sure we’ll get around to blogging about this eventually.
17. How many people that first became a blog friend, have you met face to face? None, unfortunately. But the idea of meeting some of our blog friends is very appealing to us.
18. What don’t you talk about here, either because it’s too personal or because you don’t have the energy? I don’t talk about my family, at least not in-depth. I don’t talk about the specifics of my job or where we live. For the sake of discretion I prefer to keep these things off of the blog.
19. What’s a question that you’d love to answer? Anything about our sex life. Those questions are always the most fun. Here, on our blog, our sex life is an open book. A pretty hot one, actually!
20. Have you ever lost a blogging friendship and regretted it? Justin and Betty, from Seducing the Gods. They were a very nice couple and their blog was a very entertaining read. Plus Justin has a very nice cock.
21. Have you ever lost a blogging friendship and thought, “Was that overdue!” No.
*Random mommy blog titles taken from an internet search, not the blogs themselves.
Jack,
You scared me at first with your answer to #7. LOL! But thanks for the shout out…and the compliment!!!
If you ever figure out the solution for 11, please let me know. I’d love to have more time to comment on blogs by not writing my own.
Jill,
Love you answer to #14.
And 15…I’m the same way. Never thought I’d be “one of those” that join Twitter…and now… well, I’m obsessed!
What a cool idea. I’m having fun reading through your blog 🙂
-Nerdy Wife
Cougar in Training: You should know by now that I can’t be serious for long. As for the Twitter thing, both Jill and I find that we’ve been spoiled. We’re so used to talking frankly about our sex life that we are disappointed when we have to stifle ourselves around friends and family members.
Nerdy Wife and Funny Husband: We hope you’ve enjoyed what you’ve read so far, and we hope you’ll continue to stop by and comment. We look forward to doing the same at yours.
